TFP Series

High Resolution, High Contrast Tandem Multi-Pass Fabry Perot Interferometer

TFP-2HC
Tandem Fabry Perot Interferometer

The TFP-2 HC Tandem Fabry-Pérot Interferometer delivers ultra-high contrast and precision for Brillouin light scattering, thanks to its tilt-free parallelogram scanning stage and capacitive feedback system. Its dual triple-pass interferometers use advanced antireflection techniques to eliminate cross-talk and achieve contrast ratios over 10¹⁵.

With dynamic synchronization, vibration isolation, and remote control, the TFP-2HC is built for stability and performance in demanding research environments.

TFP Models

TFP-2HC

The TFP-2 HC spectrometer is a high contrast evolution of the TFP-1, maintaining the advanced and stable interferometer stage arrangement, while introducing an optical plate that increases contrast by at least 4 orders of magnitude.

The TFP-2HC has unprecedented level of selectivity, with a unique advantage for applications where a strong elastic light component is mixed with the Brillouin signal, or when it is necessary to perform measurements very close to the elastic line.

TFP-1 (Legacy Model)

The TFP-1 spectrometer is based on a tandem 3+3 pass Fabry-Perot interferometer arrangement. The mirror spacing is selectable in the range 0.1 ÷ 30 mm, which the mirrors are scanned using piezoelectric transducers up to 2.5 µm around the rest position.

The TFP-1 is frequently used for the study of Brillouin spectra, where multiple broad features over an extended spectral range need to be studied. The flexibility of the TFP-1 allows for even Raman spectra (out to about 100 cm-1) to be measured.

TFP-2HC Product Highlights

The TFP-2 HC is a high-contrast evolution of the TFP-1 spectrometer, designed to deliver significantly enhanced performance in applications requiring high spectral selectivity. Featuring a newly developed optical plate, the TFP-2 HC increases contrast by at least four orders of magnitude—achieving up to 10¹⁵—compared to the TFP-1. This improvement is particularly beneficial when measuring signals close to the elastic line or in the presence of strong elastic light.

The TFP-2 HC employs a dual triple-pass tandem arrangement separated by a spatial filter to eliminate cross-talk. Additionally, it uses quarter-wave antireflection techniques to remove coupling without introducing misalignment, ensuring fully symmetrical transmission peaks and exceptionally high contrast.
